Shri. Siddheshwar Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Solapur

According to the Mumbai Agricultural Produce Market Act 1939 and the rules thereunder 1947, the then Mumbai Government vide notification No. APM-27 dated 12/8/1959, imposed market areas on North Solapur and South Solapur talukas. Accordingly, Solapur Market Committee was established on 12/8/1959. Thereafter, the then Mumbai Government vide notification PMC/1060-30690 G (2) dated 6/10/1960 appointed the first Government Appointed Market Committee. The actual functioning of Solapur Market Committee started on 17/4/1961 on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, Basava Jayanti, Shiv Jayanti. Presently, the functioning of Solapur Market Committee is going on as per the Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Purchase and Sale (Development and Regulation) Act 1963 and Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Purchase and Sale (Development and Regulation) Rules 1967.
